In response to the rapid escalation of xenophobia and anti-Asian racism resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and centuries of white supremacy, we as a lab stand in solidarity with our Asian American and Pacific Islander colleagues, friends, and communities.

There’s no time like January to look back and reflect on the past year, and 2020 certainly was a year like no other. The pandemic has changed our lives in innumerable ways and, on top of that, we have been experiencing the most significant national focus on race and racism that many of us have seen in our lifetimes.

The guiding mission driving research in the Laboratory of Organismal Biology is to understand evolutionary adaptations that enable new behavioral and physiological functions across different scales of biology - from small molecular and cellular level changes all the way up to ecological and evolutionary processes.
