Mabel Gonzalez

I am a biologist and chemist interested in studying how chemical communication evolved in different organisms, their chemodiversity and their chemical ecology. I joined the O’Connell lab in 2022 with the aim of understanding the metabolic mechanism of alkaloid detoxification and sequestration in poison frogs from Colombia, my home country. 

Out of the lab, I enjoy dancing, hiking in National Parks, exploring food from different countries and more recently, watercolor painting of animals.
